1st Answer on Fix Download Pending Error in Google Play

Oh! I understand what’s the problem. I’ve been through this. It can get really frustrating at times.

As per this link Download Pending...'? Here are 3 different fixes to get rid of it follow these steps:

  1. First of all, open up the Google Play Store
  2. Locate the ‘hamburger’ icon on the top left. Tap on it.
  3. Then tap on ‘My apps & games’. This is a section where you can see all the apps for which an update is available. See if there is an app which is still in the process of ‘updating’. If you find anything as such then hit ‘STOP’ written inside a green box in CAPITAL letters. All the ongoing updates will stop.
  4. After that go on try to download the app which you want to. Most probably your download will begin.
  5. In case it doesn’t, head to the next point.
  6. Go to settings and then tap on apps.
  7. Find Google Play Store and tap on it.
  8. You’ll see ‘App info’ of Google Play Store.
  9. Tap on Storage and then tap on ‘Clear Data’
  10. (Depending on your Android version, you might find ‘Clear Data’ right in the app info. So you don’t need to Tap on Storage)
  11. That’s it.

Go ahead and download your app. It will begin.

2nd Answer on How to Fix Download Pending Error With Google Play Store?

This is a common problem for Google Play Store. I haven’t come across a precise solution to it but trying different fixes sometimes works. Google Play Support is the best place to ask “Why” this happens, but here’s what I would suggest:

  1. Follow these Google Play Support steps to fix this.
  2. If that doesn’t work, Clear Google Play Store & Google Play Services cache and data, then try to download an app.
  3. If the above fails, Install the latest version of Google Play Servicesand Update Google Play Store to the latest version (use apkmirror.com).

5th Answer on Download Pending Google Play Store

Play Store showing download pending when you try to download apps from Play Store? Well, this could be because of a recent change in the way Play Store handles downloads OR maybe your Play Store is stuck.

Fret not! We can fix it either way.

Google recently updated Play Store to download only one app at a time, not multiple apps like before. And this might be the reason you’re seeing download pending message because there might be other apps in queue pending for download.

If you want you can clear the download queue on Play Store so that you download/install the app before all other apps in queue, follow the instructions below:

  1. Open Play Store app.
  2. Swipe-in from right edge of screen, and select My apps & games.
  3. Here you’ll see all apps that are currently downloading on your phone. To cancel an app from downloading, select it and touch the X (cross icon) near the download progress bar to cancel download for the app.
  4. You can do this for all apps to clear the download queue.

If the issue persists even after clearing the download queue, try clearing out cache and data for Play Store app itself. Follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to device Settings » Apps.
  2. Select Play Store from the list of apps installed on your device.
If you can’t find Play Store on apps list. Look for an option show System or All apps installed on device.
  3. Once on Play Store info page, Clear Cache and Clear Data. If you’re on Marshmallow or higher Android versions, select Storage, and then clear cache and data from there.

If you are still unable to download apps, “Force stop” Google Play Store. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to device Settings » Apps.
  2. Select Google Play Store from the list of apps installed on your device.
  3. Tap “Force Stop“.

Hopefully, the tips shared above helps you fix the download pending message on Play Store.
