How to Get Google Maps on My Desktop? [Solved]
There is no true Google Maps application for desktop operating systems (Windows, OS X, Linux etc). The way Google wants you to access its Maps application while on your desktop/laptop is through Google Maps website, however, there are some workarounds.
Google Earth
Google Earth Pro is now free and you can download it directly from Google. This will give you access to Street View, satellite images of the entire earth, satellite images of the entire Moon, satellite images of all of Mars, most of the galaxy (as seen by Hubble), a flight simulator and Google's 3D models.
Blue Stacks
Blue Stacks basically runs Android apps on an emulated version of Android inside of an application that's running on your PC. If you're thinking: that sounds like it could be slow - it is. Unless you have an above average PC I would recommend trying the other options first. If you decide to go this route just download and run Blue Stacks and once you have it set up you can download the Android Google Maps app and run it that way.
